History

Founded in 1975, Lamcom Inc. rapidly became a leading provider of visual communications. All through our growth, we have adapted to the needs of our clientele through innovation and diversification.

Important dates

1975

Richard Couture officially establishes Laminage Lamcom in response to growing demands for rigid poster applications.

1983

The company moves into larger premises in order to meet their clients’ increasing needs.

1984

Lamcom develops a new process that pulls together all of the best elements of lamination: adherence, glare solution, color, resistance, durability and easy maintenance.

1988

Daniel Lefebvre, current President and shareholder joins the Lamcom team.

1989

Lamcom moves to 5660 Louis-Hébert in Montréal and doubles it’s production area.

1995

New digital support products are developed and offered to advertising agencies.

1998

New digital technology equipment is added to sustain the growth of digital technology.

2000

Lamcom reinforces its position in the digital printing industry by purchasing several ink jet printers.

2002

Lamcom’s expansion continues and it acquires a 45 000 square foot property in Rosemont-Petite-Patrie.

2004

Lamcom opens the wayfinding and signaling design department and hires experienced personnel with this expertise.

2006

Lamcom redefines its position in the industry once more by hiring new personnel, reorganizing its installations and in acquiring the best technology in its domain.

2008

Lamcom becomes the Major Sponsor of the most prestigious design expo in Montreal, the Montreal International Interior Design Show (SIDIM). Lamcom also endorses Le Prix Ferdie, the Quebec awards in interior design.  The company also created Le Prix Lamcom, a new award in design for the 20th edition of the Montreal International Interior Design Show.
